Its Friday July 25, 2008, and I just paid off a bill!!!!! A check went out to the tune of $960.62, to Henry Ford Community College. The bill was 2,071 to start and had been lingering in my life from a school I never went back to since 2001!!!!. I have been to court over this bill, had my paychecks garnished over this bill and my income tax refund taken a few times OVER THIS BILL!!! I am so glad to finally say its out of my life for good.
Now who wants to be next!!!!

Mikki that is AWESOME!!! I know you feel good!!! I have had bills in my life exactly as you described above. They rob you of every opportunity to get ahead because every time you turn around BAM!!! Now you are free of such a burden and you did it because you were a gazelle!! Congratulations!!!!
Yes I am Freeeeeee!! lol Brad its really amazing how when you focus so hard on something how it turns around, I never woulda thought I would actually get out of debt now its like right hook left hook, knocked out in round 1 !!
I would say the same about being a gazelle when it comes to going back to school but last time i checked you couldn’t speed that up even if you were superman himself lol.

Mikki, you are what a Total Money Makeover is all about!! I would like to add that you are doing it in one of the worst economies in the United States. You make me so proud and I often brag about the fact that you aren’t complaining about there being no jobs. You have two jobs and are doing GREAT! I really am proud of you girl and I let everyone know!! In almost every example I give to friends or family I tell them about my accountability buddy in Michigan!!
I recently responded to an email from a black girl and I was trying to pump her up about it and even told her about you. I think I may have scared her off when I explained to her that you refer to me as the coolest white dude you know and I call you the coolest hardest working sista that I know. She hasn’t responded back to my email but I am guessing she may not have seen the humor in it. I was just trying to express how close we have become as friends because of this TMMO stuff, and how we have helped each other a long the way.

urrr uhhh brad you might not want to refer to me as the black girl in mich lol. I think I would be a little offended to being compared to such a fly girl like me lol. We are special and everybody may not get that. Maybe you should just say i know “a girl” in mich thats doing great, I hope she emails you back maybe you can hook her and I up, I would love to speak with her, maybe she may get it better coming from me…..
lol I see your point. I guess didn’t really think about how it might have sounded. When talking about you I don’t refer to you as the black girl in Michigan. I was just trying to describe how two people from different backgrounds and different parts of the country share the same struggle with finance and debt and we have come together and now are friends because of it. That was more my point in telling her that.
I KNOW your point and i am so glad you talk about me!!! *blushing* I feel so special lol. You know I really do hope you get to talk to her and refer her to me, I feel a special kinship to everyone who shares the struggle but I really find it important to reach out to the minority because there are so few of us attempting to better ourselves so i know how she would feel. I went through fpu not only single but i was the only minority in the whole class, tho i didn’t mind it, it would have been nice to have some one that can relate to ME if you know what i mean??
I struggle trying to get people on board because we as a people are so gosh darn stubborn and stuck in our ways.
